Daily flights (02H00), connect Lisbon to Horta airport on Faial.  This is the best way to get in and visit three islands: Faial, Pico and São Jorge.

 

There are convenient boat connections from Faial to Pico (15m) and São Jorge (1h15m).

 

If you decide to visit other archipelago islands, there are daily flight connections to São Miguel, Terceira and Flores .

Located right in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean between Europe and North America, the archipelago of Azores have nine islands with a total surface area of 2.300 km2 and a population of 250.000 inhabitants. Faial in the central group allows an easy visit to other islands mainly Pico and São Jorge.

 

 

From Horta airport to Casas do Areeiro 


 

The village of Areeiro (B) is located in the island southwest side, 9km from Horta airport (A), 3km from the sea and 2 from the Natural Park of Faial.

Getting in thru airport:

Leaving the airport area, turn left to Capelo and follow the main road. Around 9km after is the village and Casas do Areeiro are the first traditional stone houses on the left.
